Privacy Statement
This privacy policy describes how the Brazilian Scientific Journal of Health and Medicine, published by Editora Acadêmica Aluz (hereinafter referred to as the “PUBLISHER”), handles the personal information we collect from you, as an author or representative of the authors (hereinafter referred to as the “AUTHORS”), in relation to the publishing agreement (hereinafter referred to as the “Agreement”). The privacy and security of your personal information are of utmost importance to us. Therefore, we kindly ask you to carefully read this policy before agreeing to the Agreement.
1. COLLECTION OF INFORMATION
The PUBLISHER will collect personal information from the AUTHORS, including name, address, contact information, institutional affiliation, details of the work to be published, and other relevant information necessary for the execution of the Agreement.
2. USE OF INFORMATION
The collected information will be used exclusively to fulfill the obligations established in the Agreement, including the publication of the work, communication regarding the editorial process, dissemination of the work, and any other activities related to publication.
3. DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION
The PUBLISHER may share the AUTHORS’ information with third parties, such as reviewers, layout designers, and professionals involved in the publication process, provided that the confidentiality of such information is ensured. The PUBLISHER does not commercialize the AUTHORS’ personal information and does not transfer copyright ownership to third parties.
4. INFORMATION STORAGE
The Brazilian Scientific Journal of Health and Medicine uses ZENODO and Crossref systems for cloud storage of articles, ensuring availability even during server downtime. In addition, the journal is archived in accordance with Law No. 10,994 of December 14, 2004, at the National Library. It is also linked to the LOCKSS and CLOCKSS archiving systems to ensure the digital preservation of its content.
5. AUTHORS’ RIGHTS
Authors whose works are accepted for publication in the Brazilian Scientific Journal of Health and Medicine agree to the following rights: the application of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which allows the use and distribution of published articles provided that proper credit is given to the authors; exclusive electronic publication of the article by the journal; and indexing of the article in national and international databases, directories, digital libraries, and bibliometric databases in which the journal is or will be indexed.
6. RETENTION PERIOD
The personal information of the AUTHORS will be retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the obligations established in the Agreement and to comply with applicable legal requirements.
7. ACCEPTANCE OF THIS POLICY
Acceptance of the Agreement implies the AUTHORS’ consent to this privacy policy, allowing the PUBLISHER to collect and use personal information as described herein.
8. POLICY CHANGES
The PUBLISHER may periodically revise this privacy policy to reflect changes in its information collection and usage practices. We would recommend that you review this policy regularly to stay informed.
The names and addresses provided to this journal will be used exclusively for the services rendered by this publication. They will not be made available for any purpose or to any third party.
